Colin joined Barr Picard Law as an associate in the winter of 2020 and focuses his practice almost exclusively to the area of family law. Taking pride in providing white-glove legal services to individuals navigating through the complexities of domestic, marital and familial disputes, Colin has a strong reputation for demonstrating excellence in advocating for his clients both inside and outside of the courtroom.
Colin obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2018 and graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy.
While studying law, Colin served as Vice President for both the Energy Law Club and International Association of Petroleum Negotiators’ University of Alberta Chapter. Colin also volunteered with Student Legal Services of Edmonton and served on the judicial branch of the University of Alberta Students’ Union.
Today, he volunteers with the Edmonton Community Legal Center by providing legal advice to members of the low-income community and giving public presentations on various topics in family law. He is the co-author of the Family Chambers Procedure Manual (2020 edition) and part of the steering committee of the emerging Alberta Legal Coaches & Limited Services Society.
